GRADUATE RECORD EXAMINATION
GRE should be taken to do Master of Science(M.S) in USA, Canada, Australia and UK.
The step wise process goes this way!!
1. Register for the test at http://www.ets.org/gre
Go through the website, grasp the details.
a. It is advisable that you book the date for the exam well in advance and have sufficient time for preparation.
b. Ideal time to take the exam is in the month of August.
c. At least 3 months of preparation is required.
d. Self preparation is the key.
e. Shortlist the universities which you are aiming for. This is a major task. There are many consultants available for this process, but its better that you do a research on the universities and select them.
f. Take the TOEFL (Test of English as Foreign Language) test with in a week after you complete your GRE exam. For details regarding this test visit the website

g. After the test is over, get ready with you SOP's and LOR's.

TEST PREPARATION DETAILS
1. Start with Barron's book. There are two other books KAPLAN and BIG BOOK, but BARRON'S the most preferred one.
2. Practice tests are must. POWERPREP and KAPLAN practice tests are very helpful and its compulsory to take these two. Last 20 days of your preparation should include one practice test a day!!
3. Various online communities(ORKUT) and GRE forums such as TAKE GRE are available which should be visited daily to get the updates from those who have taken tests. Go through the previous months THREADS to get an idea of the questions. Solve them, it'll be very much helpful.
